A 37-year-old man has been charged over a hit and run incident in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Police allege the man was driving along Hannan Street about 9 o’clock Saturday night when he hit a parked vehicle.

He stopped the vehicle near Lionel Street and allegedly attempted to run from the area.

Two members of the public detained the man until police arrived.

He has been charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of failing to stop – damage to property.

The man is due to face Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court next month.
