Consultation on schools in Kinross, Mindarie and Clarkson show community is split

CONSULTATION results regarding public secondary schools in Kinross, Mindarie and Clarkson show the community is split on the two options presented.

Currently, Kinross caters for years 7 to 10, with students then having to enrol at Mindarie Senior College, which only caters for years 11 and 12, or Clarkson, which caters for years 7 to 12.

As part of the State Government community consultation, the first option suggested Clarkson could be closed and repurposed to become part of North Metropolitan Tafe, focusing on training for young people, and Kinross and Mindarie could both cater for years 7 to 12.

The second option was for “no change”.
