Smoking ceremony on Scarborough Beach adds to Australia Day conversation

A SMOKING ceremony at a Perth beach aims to spark a change in the conversation surrounding Australia Day.

The ceremony will be performed on Scarborough Beach on January 26, as part of Auspire’s Reflect, Respect Australia Day campaign.

The event will include yarning circles with elders, song and dance from Balga-based Wadjak Northside Community Centre under the amphitheatre from 7.30am.
